Yordas & Valley Entrance - Sunday 23rd May 2004

Determined to have an easy day out and plenty of pub time the plan was for a quick trip through Yordas then pop into Valley Entrance for a quick look at toyland.

 

Arriving at Yordas we quickly changed and walked up to the top entrance getting there just before a large group, Paul rigged the entrance pitch and Sooty descended first - slightly nervously due to Paul’s habit of packing ropes that are a couple of metres too short but thankfully it was long enough this time. through as the other end of the rope was about 3 metres up the pitch. Paul exited to recover the rope from the top entrance while George & Sooty waited for the other group to de-rig our rope for us.

Back at the car we took our harnesses off then drove the couple of minutes down the road to Valley then quickly made our way to the climb up to toyland. Rather helpfully there was an SRT rope in place which was of no use to us whatsoever because our harnesses and jammers were in the car. After some debate Paul headed off up the climb did a couple of athletic contortions to get over the chockstone and
